About

Based in Rome,  Zuccon International Project is an Italian family design house founded by Gianni Zuccon and his late wife Paola Galeazzi in 1984.

Having met as students whilst studying at La Sapienza University in Rome, Gianni and Paola started designing yachts together in 1972 and were married in 1973.

In 1984 they officially renamed their studio to Zuccon International Project.

“It is impossible to recount the story of my career without mentioning Paola, as it is impossible to separate our emotional, sentimental and family experience from the realisation of our products.”

– Gianni Zuccon

The Zuccon International Studio in Rome has since expanded to a team of over 25 employees and also includes Gianni and Paola’s children, Martina and Bernardo, who are currently managing the whole firm, including the expanding superyacht division, Zuccon Super Yacht Design (ZSYD) which handles superyacht design and research.

Martina Zuccon, born in 1980, is an architect and graduated with honours from the “Valle Giulia” faculty of architecture at the “La Sapienza” University of Rome. Joining Zuccon in 2004, Martina handled daily management and administration along with marine and civil planning projects and has since headed up the superyacht division alongside Bernardo.

Bernardo Zuccon, born in 1982, graduated with honours from the “Valle Giulia” faculty of architecture at the “La Sapienza” University in Rome, and joined Zuccon International Project in 2007, mainly focusing on yacht and boat design. Since 2006, he has also simultaneously been the research assistant for the architectural planning courses at the “Valle Giulia” faculty of architecture in Rome.

“A big boat is a tailor-made suit; a production boat is about the challenge of finding a balance. In a big boat, the client says what he wants. In production, we have to interpret the future.”

-Gianni Zuccon

Over the years Zuccon has had the opportunity to work on many projects, ranging from 10metre yacht designs to superyachts and even the facilities of the European Space Agency in Italy.

A successful partnership with the Feretti Group has also resulted in a two decade strong relationship that has delivered the Ferretti 53, 94 and 112 and superyachts like Givi, Darlings Danama and Chopi Chopi and Cloud 9 by CRN shipyard.

Considered one of the world’s most authoritative nautical design studios today, Zuccon International Project continues to work on an on-going basis with several of the most important Italian shipyard, such as Ferretti Yachts, Custom Line, CRN, Sanlorenzo and Perini Navi to create the legacy of design they are known for.

“The architecture has to be concentrated to offer the perfect integration between shape and functionality. People and living solutions have to be the central point of any project, in the middle of a new project we put focus on the people and the quality of life we can offer with our projects.
