Aston Martin’s in-house design team, “Q by Design,” has collaborated with legendary single malt whisky distillery Bowmore to create a special edition DBX SUV inspired by the history of the Scottish distillery.

Embracing elements of the whisky-making process itself, the Q by Design team found a creative way to inlay strips from the copper whisky stills throughout the interior and incorporated the official Bowmore tweed throughout the DBX Bowmore design. Other copper details are also featured throughout the interior, like the polished copper cupholders and door sill plaques made of recycled copper from the original Bowmore still.

For the new Bowmore DBX, Aston Martin’s Q by Design team have brought back the archived exterior paint color “Bowmore Blue,” although customers will still have the option to choose the alternative Xenon Grey or a range of standard Aston Martin exterior paint options.

Customers will also have the option to select black brake calipers if desired to complete the exterior look and can choose between either the “Obsidian Monotone (black) or Copper Tan Metallic/Obsidian Duotone (tan) for the interior. The interior finishings will also be complemented by Bowmore’s own Tweed, created by the world-renowned Islay Woolen Mill.

Limited to 18 models, new owners will be invited to a private Aston Martin “Art of Living” experience that sees guests pick up their new vehicle in Edinburgh before embarking on a scenic road trip through the Scottish countryside.

As part of the experience, guests will also have the opportunity to tour the Bowmore Distillery and hand-fill their own bottle of a 39-year-old Bowmore whisky straight from the cask.

The new Aston Martin DBX Bowmore Edition will be priced at 219,950 (US$294,000) and is expected to begin deliveries end of 2021.
