Aston Martin’s Limited Edition V12 Speedster Prototype Revealed
Aston Martin has shared first images of its open-roof V12 Speedster prototype as it undergoes “dynamic development” and testing.
Earlier this year, Aston Martin revealed the concept for a new two-seat open-roof roadster and have now shared the first images of the V12 Speedster prototype as it undergoes “dynamic development” and testing.
Captured speeding through the countryside, the stealth matte black prototype designed by the company’s bespoke division “Q by Aston Martin” takes inspiration from iconic models like the 1950’s Aston Martin DBR1.
Powered by a 5.2 liter twin-turbo V12 producing 700hp and 753Nm of torque, the Speedster can accelerate to 62mph(100km/h) in 3.5 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 186mph(300km/h).
The Aston Martin V12 Speedster will cost £765,000 and be limited to only 88 units, making it one of the marques most exclusive models comparable to the McLaren Elva (production run of 149) and Ferrari’s Monza SP1 and SP2 (499 vehicles in total).
Deliveries were initially set to begin early 2021. However, this was before the COVID-19 pandemic and may be delayed until later in the year.
