Damen Yachting SeaXplorer 77 Expedition yacht Gets Fresh Update

Damen Yachting has updated the SeaXplorer 77 Expedition Yacht to include an upper-deck swimming pool and a dance floor for 150 guests.

In 2015 Damen Yachting revealed the SeaXplorer concept – a luxury expedition yacht combining the best of Amel’s superyacht expertise with Damen’s commercial shipbuilding technology.

Now, after the first three deliveries and further customer feedback, Damen Yachting has revealed the new look SeaXplorer 77 with an increased focus on exploration features for tropical destinations.

Working in collaboration with operational design partners EYOS Expeditions and exterior stylists Azure Yacht Design, Damen Yachting’s team reconfigured the design to include additional lifestyle features like an upper-deck swimming pool, a dance floor for up to 150 guests, and a large multipurpose aft deck that can be modified into a seaplane deck or a hangar for a 7-person submarine.

“Visiting the polar regions once in their lifetimes is on nearly every SeaXplorer client’s bucket list,” shared Enrique Tintore, SeaXplorer Design Manager at Damen Yachting. “But so are many tropical areas where the operational challenges shouldn’t be underestimated. It’s about staying safe in isolation, but also about enjoying the yachting lifestyle to the maximum. In fact, you don’t need to go very far from the major superyacht hubs before the benefits of an explorer yacht become clear. That’s the philosophy that our line-up reflects.”

As part of the new redesign, Damen Yachting also enlisted two yacht interior designers to create two fresh designs which future owners can select from – Monaco Yacht Temptation, who has previously designed the interior of the first SeaXplorer “ANAWA” and London-based Winch Design who are new to the SeaXplorer expedition yacht range.

“When we started our ambitious SeaXplorer programme, we dreamed of something different – a luxury expedition yacht born from an innovative crossover of our Amels yachting and Damen shipbuilding technology,” says Rose Damen, Managing Director of Damen Yachting. “It was a challenging ambition, but our clients have proved that there is a growing market for true expedition yachting beyond limits.”
