First Lamborghini Sián Arrives In North America
The first North American delivery of the new Lamborghini Sián has taken place with the customer unwrapping giant Christmas present in time for Christmas.
Lamborghini Newport has shared the reveal of the very first Lamborghini Sián to land in North America – an ultra bright “Arancio Atlas” (orange) model.
With the new owner “TN” on hand to take delivery of the Lamborghini Sián, the reveal was also covered by Youtuber The Stradman, who seeing the model for the first time, enthusiastically showed off the details of the $3.3 million supercar as it was unwrapped.
First revealed by Lamborghini in September 2019, the Sián is Lamborghini’s first production hybrid model and is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine combined with a hybrid system resulting in 808hp, a 0-62mph (100km/h) sprint speed of 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 217mph (350km/h).
Unlike many other hybrid models, Lamborghini has chosen to use a supercapacitor in place of a traditional lithium-ion battery pack. The technology involved in the supercapacitor means it is three times more powerful than a lithium-ion battery of the same weight, or put another way, it can deliver the same power in a battery 1/3rd of the size allowing for more significant weight reduction.
Another unique feature of the Lamborghini Sián is its highly advanced regenerative braking system, especially developed by Lamborghini. Thanks to the supercapacitor’s symmetric behavior, which, contrary to standard lithium-ion batteries, can be charged and discharged with the same power, the Sián’s energy storage system is fully charged every time the vehicle brakes. The energy stored is an instantly-available power boost, allowing the driver to draw immediately on increased torque when accelerating away.
Lamborghini will only be producing 63 Lamborghini Sián’s in total and another 19 roadster versions, making it one of their more exclusive production editions.
