Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa’s new Rolls-Royce Phantom Oribe is the first Rolls-Royce created in collaboration with Hermès and will match the owner’s recently commissioned private aircraft.

Commissioned by the Japanese entrepreneur who is an avid art collector and supercar enthusiast, the Phantom Oribe is inspired by Yusaku Maezawa‘s collection of 16th-century Japanese pottery known as Oribe ware and its deep-green colored glaze.

The new Phantom Oribe is the collective work of artisans and craftspeople from England, France, and Japan and features a subtle two-tone exterior in Oribe Green and cream, reminiscent of his glazed pottery pieces.

The bespoke Oribe Green color was created exclusively for the Phantom Oribe at Rolls-Royce’s Surface Finish Centre at Goodwood. In an unusual move for the brand, the specialized color has been made available to the client for his matching private jet.

The interior of the Rolls-Royce Phantom Oribe is finished predominantly detailed in Hermès Enea Green leather and in another first for Rolls-Royce, the features Hermès ‘Toile H’ canvas on the door armrests, center, and rear consoles, and the signature headliner.

The Phantom Oribe’s Gallery (Rolls-Royce’s unique glass-front “art gallery that runs the length of the vehicle’s fascia) features a special Hermès commissioned artwork based on a design by the celebrated French artist and illustrator Pierre Péron (1905–1988) who created many of the House’s iconic scarves. The work, inspired by the famous Hermès horse motif, is hand-painted on Open Pore Royal Walnut.

“This magnificent expression of our pinnacle product represents a landmark for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, bringing together two houses with more than three centuries’ combined experience and heritage.
