The contract for the newest Onda 321L Limousine Tender was only finalized 9 months ago at the Monaco Yacht Show, while its magnificent 95m mother ship’s construction was nearing completion in Greece by Golden Yachts.

Onda, who coincidently is also based in Greece, successfully completed the quick turnaround with the super sleek 321L tender and has just finished the tender’s sea trials, supervised by the owner’s representatives.

A Limo With Speed

The 9.75m tender exceeded predicted performance markers during the sea trials, reaching a top speed of 42 knots, which is practically unheard of for a limousine tender with such small engines as its twin inboard 220hp Volvo Penta’s. Onda has chalked the achievement up to constructing the 321L with a novel ultra-light lamination technique, using a new combination of composite materials including carbon vinyl ester.

With the 321L’s performance in mind, the tender was extensively insulated in a way to minimize the noise and vibration experienced by passengers in the cabin without loss to speed potential.

Customized Inside and Out

Onda and the Scandinavian based Mannerfelt Design Team worked with the owner to incorporate requests such as a small refrigerator, an espresso machine, and a unique colorway to work in harmony with the O’Pari mothership, while custom interior lighting was made for each window mullion. Other requests included an adaptation to the Onda fender system that gives this 321L an overall sleeker look while also improving fender delivery and retrieval.

Inside, 10 guests can sit on the two facing settees under a full-length roof skylight, while occupant privacy is preserved by creating a dedicated external driving cockpit for two crewmembers in front of the main cabin. The aft of the 321L features a two-step direct access swim platform that makes it easy for friends and family to enter the water while the tender is at anchor.

Commenting on the rewarding week of trials, George Riginos, Onda Tenders CEO remarked “It was great to be able to share this experience with the owner’s representatives, who were also present at the sea trials. They have been very impressed with what we have achieved in such a short delivery time: a beautiful limousine tender with luxury finishes and hand-crafted furnishings that has performance in its DNA.”

Onda is no stranger to building Limousine tenders for megayachts, with a previous custom 321L having been completed for the 85m M/Y O’Ptasia.
