To commemorate Aston Martin’s return to Formula 1 for the first time in over 60 years, the UK automaker has unveiled a new Vantage F1 Edition that will be the fastest, most powerful focused Vantage yet thanks to significant chassis and aerodynamic improvements.

While Aston Martin’s racing team was busy preparing to return to the grid, the engineering team of their road counterpart was also active at work, creating a significantly enhanced Aston Martin Vantage for this year’s Official Safety Car of Formula 1. It is this vehicle which the new Vantage F1 Edition is based on.
Designed for improved lap time performance without compromising on-road capabilities, the Vantage F1 Edition is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that now delivers a maximum 535PS and features aerodynamic improvements to increase positive front and rear downforce, totaling 200kg more downforce than the Vantage at top speed.

“Performance is at the heart of every Aston Martin, but when it wears an F1® badge, it has to be a truly exceptional car,” says Aston Martin CEO Tobias Moers. The Vantage was already the most focused sports car in our range but in the development of our Official Safety Car of Formula 1®, it had to be a true athlete: more powerful; more agile; more immediate and more exciting to drive. And – of course – quicker and more capable in a race-track environment. I set the engineering team a tough target, as I was insistent that gains in performance came via genuine improvements in the car’s dynamics, and not by fitting track-optimised tyres. The results speak for themselves. A Vantage to appeal to the most discerning drivers and a new model that marks an exciting moment in Aston Martin’s history”.

For the first time, Aston Martin’s Vantage has also been fitted with 21″ tires developed in partnership with Pirelli. The lower profile tire helps with progressive on-limit handling to provide maximum confidence on the track.

Like the Official Safety Car of Formula 1, the new Vantage F1 Edition comes in Racing Green, although owners can also choose to select from Jet Black or Lunar White, all of which are complemented by racing graphics in Dark Grey.
