Rolls-Royce Phantom “Iridescent Opulence” Delivered to Abu Dhabi
Rolls-Royce has delivered the bespoke Phantom “Iridescent Opulence” to Abu Dhabi, incorporating natural bird feathers in its design.
Rolls-Royce are no strangers to bespoke commissions as demonstrated by the “Inspired by Earth” Wraith and have now recently revealed their latest one-off design for Abu Dhabi, the Phantom “Iridescent Opulence.”
Exhibiting deep hues of glimmering blue/green on the exterior, the same tones are carried into the interior in the form of the Phantom “Iridescent Opulence” Gallery which features a Mother of Pearl clock inlaid into an abstract art installation made of more than 3,000 feathers designed in collaboration with Swiss-based Nature Squared.
Situated on the dashboard of the vehicle and enclosed in glass, the Gallery is an invention of the Rolls-Royce Design Team, who, after listening to feedback from clients, came to realize they valued fine and contemporary art and wanted to create a space that owners could use to exhibit and appreciate unique art pieces.
As an established materials specialist, Nature Squared created the Gallery art piece by sourcing 3000 different sized iridescent feathers from a sustainable species of bird and wove them into a design that radiates out from the center clock.
Combining traditional craftsman ship with the latest technology, Nature Squared specializes in creating sustainable surfaces for architects, designers and consumers. In the process of ensuring endangered and threatened species are protected, abundant natural materials like as eggshell, seeds, bark and feathers from industries such as farming and fishing that are often sourced, thus giving a second chance at life in a new art form such as the Gallery found in the Phantom.

The bespoke Rolls-Royce Phantom Iridescent Opulence can reach 0-60mph in 5.2 seconds and is powered by a standard 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12, capable of producing 563 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque.
