It’s been two years since the first reveal of Brabham Automotive’s BT62 at Australia House in London and customers on the waitlist are starting to get excited as deliveries begin rolling out.

While many of the largest automakers around the world have been shut down since mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, located in Adelaide Australia, Brabham Automotive’s small but agile team has been able to continue working on client’s hand-built supercars under governmental health & safety guidelines.

One such client is Horsepower Racing in the UK who is the lucky recipient of the first BT62 Competition model that has just been delivered (with the hopes of racing later this year in the Britcar Endurance Championship).

Priced upwards of $1.3 million each and limited to seventy vehicles in total, the hand-built Brabham BT62 is available in a range of configurations from the “standard” road-car version to Horsepower Racing’s green and gold hand-built BT62 Competition version (essentially a stripped-out version of the road car).

Sitting on a set of lightweight Goodyear slick racing tires, Horsepower Racing’s BT62 Competition is instantly eye-catching with its green and gold cloaked carbon fiber body and is powered by a 700hp, naturally-aspirated V8 engine with a 6-speed sequential drivetrain driving an extreme lightweight chromoly safety cell. Onboard the data and telemetry systems ensure drivers and the race team can monitor performance.

While the team at Brabham has no doubt celebrated the handover of the first BT62 Competition, they still have plenty more orders to complete for other eager clients of the already sold out model.

Brabham Automotive CEO Dan Marks shared, “The growth of Brabham Automotive over the last couple of years is a testament to the up-front planning that we put in place operationally and the depth of infrastructure that we can call upon from the broader Fusion Capital group. This ensures that we can scale Brabham to meet demand as future vehicle variants come on line. The Brabham Automotive team is highly skilled and has shown great resilience in what has been a trying time for everybody around the world. We are extremely proud of what has been achieved.”

Over the past two years, Brabham Automotive has also been quietly but steadily growing a powerhouse team that includes a range of experienced team members from McLaren, Aston Martin, Ferrari, General Motors , Koenigsegg, and Tesla, to name a few so it will be interesting to watch what comes next.
