Lamborghini Aventador S
Lamborghini’s most iconic model now reaps the inheritance of the historical S models and evolves….
At low speeds the rear axle steers in the opposite direction with respect to the front axle, leading to a virtual reduction of the wheelbase. At high speed, the two axles rotate in parallel, generating a virtual increase of the wheelbase.
The new Aventador S features magnetorheological front and rear shock absorbers with pushrod system, which constantly modify the behavior of the suspensions according to the road conditions and the driving mode selected.
The four-wheel drive system of the new Aventador S has been optimized to work specifically with all the new active systems, in particular Rear-wheel steering, the stabilizing effect of which makes it possible to have a high percentage of distributed torque on the rear wheels.
The addition of the fourth new EGO mode means you can now shape the character of the Aventador S. With this new option, the driver can set each of the active systems (powertrain, steering, suspension) to the preferred mode such as STRADA, SPORT or CORSA.
The interiors of the new Aventador S fully reflect the car’s mission, which is to be different from all others: a super sports car with cutting-edge technology, but also one which is incredibly luxurious. New S-trim configuration available as well as material such as Carbon Skin and having certain parts of the body left exposed. Interactive TFT LCD displays with completely redesigned graphics, and the possibility to enhance the interiors with a LED lighting system created ad hoc.
Each surface of the new Aventador S has been engineered to gain power and improve performance. Compared to the first Aventador the new design elements provide an increase of 130% in front downforce, while the new side air vents reduce turbulence, improving cooling and increasing efficiency.
The management system in the Aventador S alternates between the 3 settings of the active rear wing with overall efficiency at high downforce improved by over 50%, and in low drag by more than 400% over the first Aventador.
The V12 is a defining mark of Automobili Lamborghini. The Aventador S is no exception, featuring an updated and improved version of the historical Lamborghini engine. Its maximum power has been increased from 700 to 740 CV, as has the max rpm from 8350 to 8500 rpm. The engine’s responsiveness is also now much quicker.
