Gemballa Announces New Hypercar Division & Avalanche 4X4 Concept

Gemballa GmbH announce new hypercar division and reveal first sketches of the Avalanche 4X4 Concept based on the Porsche 911 and 992.

Located in Leonberg, the German tuning company known as Gemballa GmbH (not to be confused with the newly formed company “Marc Philipp Gemballa GmbH” recently started by the late founders son) have been customizing and tuning cars since 1981.

Primarily known for their performance conversions of Porsches and other sports cars into the Gemballa Mirage GT, MIG-U1, Mistrale and other models favored by the adventerous, Gemballa are now looking to break new ground and raise capital to build their own hypercar.

As part of their future hypercar plans, Gemballa are restructuring the company into three distict divisions. The newly announced hypercar division (HD) which will focus wholly on the creation of their first ever Gemballa Hypercar, the Luxury Customization Division (LCD) which will continue to carry out customization and tuning projects on customers own sports cars and last but not least, the newly formed Gemballa Classics Division (CD) which will be tasked with the job of maintaining and restoration of existing classic Gemballa cars.

Speaking on the new company structure, Gemballa CEO Steffen Korbach stated, “With the delimitation of the individual business areas and the management as a separate profit centre, we want to ensure a clearer corporate structure. This should especially also have a positive impact on current fundraising activities. All areas are currently being equipped with new investments and will be greatly expanded in the future. The focus remains on expanding our already high quality standards. We will be introducing numerous new models over the next 24 months and expanding our dealer network worldwide,” states Steffen Korbach, owner and CEO of Gemballa.

One of those new models will be the 4×4 variant of the current Gemballa Avalanche conversion, known as the Gemballa Avalanche 4×4.

Based on the Gemballa Avalanche 4.2 RS prototype presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2017, the new Gemballa Avalanche 4×4 is a rally style looking off-roader built on the current Porsche 911 (991 and 992 generations).

While further details including performance numbers are yet to be announced, Gemballa have stated production will be a small limited series with deliveries expected within the next 24 months.
