Jaguar x Gorillaz Recruit 5000 New Staff By Gaming
It’s all fun and games until you want to apply for a job at Jaguar Land Rover. No wait, scratch that. It’s STILL all fun and games. In an unlikely pairing, Jaguar has teamed up with the animated band Gorillaz in an innovative recruitment strategy. Why? Because fictional lead guitarist Noodle, is a Jaguar Land Rover ambassador of course (still wrapping our heads around how exactly that works).
Potential employees will be required to test their skills on an app released by Gorillaz that has a special Jaguar Land Rover recruitment area. Players will virtually assemble the Jaguar I-PACE electric concept sports car and be required to crack a series of code puzzles. Jaguar are looking for software and engineering talent that shows real world attributes like curiosity, persistence, lateral thinking and problem solving. While not as brutal as the Hunger Games, only the strongest survive and will be fast-tracked in the recruitment process.
Head of Jaguar Land Rover electrical engineering, Alex Heslop sums it up like this: “As the automotive industry transforms over the next decade, fuelled by software innovation, we have to attract the best talent and that requires a radical rethink of how we recruit.”
Who said gaming was never going to get you a “real” job….?
“May the odds be ever in your favour.”
