Aston Martin has revealed a new DBR1 inspired livery of the upcoming limited edition V12 Speedster to coincide with the opening of the order book for the £765,000 million model.
Aston Martin has revealed a new DBR1 heritage racing-inspired livery for its upcoming open-top V12 Speedster. The announcement coincides with the opening of the order book for the $1.5 million model.
Inspired by Aston Martin’s most successful race car, the 1959 Le Mans-winning DBR1 driven by Carroll Shelby and Roy Salvadori, the new livery option for the V12 Speedster features the iconic Aston Martin Racing Green paint with a Clubsport White pinstripe and roundels said to take up to 50 hours of work to complete the exterior.
Meanwhile, the interior features a matching green look with leather finished in Caithness Green while Satin Black diamond-turned 21” wheels and a Satin Silver anodized grille complete the look.
“Emotion and exclusivity are at the heart of this car. A rare and exceptional Aston Martin, it has been engineered to offer a visceral driving experience that belies its elegant, artistic shape,” said Aston Martin chief creative officer, Marek Reichman.
First announced last March, the V12 Speedster will be built at Aston Martin’s Gaydon HQ in the UK and follows other two-seater open-top models like the Ferrari Monza SP2 or McLaren Elva.
Limited to only 88 models in total, the Aston Martin V12 Speedster is powered by a 5.2 liter twin-turbo V12 and a rear-mounted ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, capable of producing an acceleration speed of 0-62mph in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 318mph.
The Aston Martin V12 Speedster price starts at £765,000 each, with deliveries set to begin mid-2021.
