Officina Armare Reveals New “BadGal” Superyacht

Italian superyacht design studio Officina Armare has revealed their latest design, the sleek and sporty 141ft (43m) “BadGal,” which is due to be completed in 2023.

Featuring sporty lines and a massive amount of darkened glass, BadGal is as mysterious as she is a showstopper and will undoubtedly turn heads out on the water when she finally launches. In fact, according to the Officina Armare design team, who were tasked with creating the concept, the focus of BadGal was to propose a “show-off” yacht rather than design it specifically around usability.

When looking at the profile view of BadGal’s 141ft (43m) exterior design, the first thing you may notice are the two substantial black windows with a contour line that connects the upper to the lower one, creating a fake intake similar to a side pod of a car, with a high sheer line, running from bow to stern.

Another outstanding feature is the vast glass dome-shaped upper deck that enhances the yacht’s sporty look by keeping an ordinary bow shape, giving the vessel a feel of speed and quickness.

With living spaces laid out over three decks, BadGal’s huge master cabin is located at the main deck’s bow with the remaining four luxury staterooms, each with their own private bathroom, located on the lower deck.

Three crew cabins suitable for six crew members are also found on the lower deck; however, they are divided by a watertight bulkhead to enable the separate flow of crew and guest traffic.

For living and entertaining purposes, the dining and open bar are situated on the main deck with an additional living area and music studio/lounge found on the upper deck under the giant canopy of glass, offering incredibly unobstructed views for the guests to enjoy.

Officina Armare’s BadGal superyacht is of course, not just about pretty looks. Powered by twin MTU 12V 4000CM93L engines, she can easily reach speeds of up to 29 knots thanks to a planning hull, which allows her to fly across the top of the water (compared to a displacement hull) and cruises at around 25 knots.

Currently being built on spec, BadGal is expected to be completed in 2023 and is now available for sale through Worth Avenue Yachts with price listed as “on request.”
