Brabham Automotive has revealed the BT62R, a road-legal variant of the very much “not road legal” hypercar first introduced in 2018. This new variant rounds out the BT62 family, which includes the Ultimate Track and Competition, and has been equipped with a modified exhaust system and other features that allow the vehicle to be road registered in selected markets

“Launching the BT62R is a great achievement for the team at Brabham Automotive. All the requisite design and engineering to turn the track BT62 into the road going BT62R has been done in-house by our team of engineers, which is a great testimony to their endeavor and expertise,” says Dan Marks, CEO of Brabham Automotive.

“This is a significant milestone for Brabham Automotive as we continue towards the launch of our next car, which will be a fully homologated road car. We will be making further announcements about this exciting next chapter in the coming months. For now, customers can get a taste of what it is like to drive a Brabham on the road with the BT62R.”

Significant changes from the Ultimate Track and Competition variants have been made to make the BT62R suited for road driving, such as the inclusion of air-conditioning, a passenger seat, reversing camera, side mirrors, and the ability to lock the door in the event you have a good enough reason to leave the vehicle.

An inbuilt vehicle lift kit also allows for easy clearance on public roads and steep driveways and can be set at 70mm, 90mm, 110mm, or 130mm at the press of a button.

Other adjustments have been made to improve the road driving experience and comply with the legislation, including the aforementioned new exhaust system to reduce cabin noise and remain noise compliant on the roads.

The Brabham BT62R also features a new front splitter and rear diffuser along with Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport road tires for motorsport handling.

Like the other Brabham BT62 versions, the BT62R is powered by the same 5.4 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine and available to order in either left or right-hand drive.

New owners will also choose between the “Signature Series” livery or the “Celebrations Series” livery. With the Signature Series BT62R, owners will have the chance to work with Brabham’s in-house designers to choose from various options, including race-inspired liveries or even carbon fiber packs.

Meanwhile, the Celebration Series BT62R features a livery that honors one of the 35 Formula 1 wins achieved by the Brabham Formula 1 team throughout their racing history. Each of the 35 livery designs is an exclusive one-off design and will never be reproduced again.

Other details included in the Celebration Series option are 18K gold logos and badges, bespoke carbon work throughout the vehicle, and an exclusive Track Pack, including a track rear wing, splitter, and diffuser that can be fitted for racing events.

The first Brabham BT62R is set to be delivered in the coming weeks, with multiple orders soon to follow for customers in both the Northern and Southern Hemisphere.
