New 2021 Bentley Bentayga Revealed
The new 2021 Bentley Bentayga introduces new styling elements including an updated front grille, wheels and brand new tech.
Bentley has revealed the new 2021 Bentley Bentayga design, featuring new styling elements and technology as an update to the already popular SUV model.
First introduced in November 2015, the luxury Bentayga SUV has remained a core model for the British automaker and already sold around 20,000 vehicles, in many circumstances, to first time Bentley owners.
Taking exterior design cues from the third-generation Continental GT and the all-new Flying Spur, the 2021 Bentley Bentayga has been given a large front matrix grille for an even sportier look and features new LED cut-crystal headlamps. The rear has also been revised with a new full-width tailgate and for the first time on the Bentayga – elliptical taillights.
“We spent a long time examining how to improve the proportions and character of the car,” explained Head of Exterior Design JP Gregory, adding the “new Bentayga is still instantly recognizable as a Bentley but now has a much greater road presence. What we have achieved is a significant step forward – a more self-confident looking SUV from whatever angle you look at the car. The prouder grill and higher, more focused elliptical headlights give a much more modern expression – a real statement of intent.”
Other exterior styling updates include a new 22” wheel design exclusive to the new 2021 Bentayga and two new exterior paint colors – Viridian (a dark metallic green based on the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept car) and Patina (a mid-tone off-white).
The Bentayga’s interior has also been upgraded with a new center fascia, steering wheel, door trims, seats and now features a new generation high resolution 10.9” infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as a standard feature for the first time.
Three seating configurations are available with the standard five-seat or an optional four-seat layout (two individual rear seats separated by a center console) or a three-row/seven-seat configuration.
Owners can also choose a new dark tint diamond brushed aluminum trim for the first time along with two new straight-grained interior veneers – Koa and Crown Cut Walnut. There is also the option to upgrade the seating quilting design and micro piping seat detailing with the Mullinar Specifications if you want to customize it that little bit more.
Head of Interior Design at Bentley Motors Darren Day sharing, “The interior of Bentayga has always been highly admired for its exceptional build quality, relaxing atmosphere and luxurious ambience. Alongside from the more obvious changes to the centre console, seats and door trims, it’s the little features customers may not notice at first that add up to make the difference in new Bentayga. It might be the new, horizontal grab handle in the door, or the unique seat stitching – each one emphasising how the design team has gone the extra mile.”
Initially, the new 2021 Bentley Bentayga will be launched as a V8 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged model, with a plug-in Hybrid and 6.0 liter W12 Speed version expected to follow later this year.
