Italian Made Automobili Pininfarina “Battista Anniversario” Revealed Online
Announced on the eve of what would have been the Geneva International Motor Show, Automobili Pininfarina have revealed their latest design – the €2.6 million “Battista Anniversario”.
Created to celebrate the 90th anniversary since Battista “Pinin” Farina founded the Pininfarina coachbuilding and design house, the all-electric Anniversario edition is said to be faster than a Formula 1 car in a 0-100km/h sprint (under 2 seconds) and claimed by the automaker to be “the most powerful sports ever to be designed and built in Italy”.
While the Anniversario shares much of the original technicals of the pure-electric Battista hyper GT revealed at last years Geneva International Motor Show, the limited edition version has new aerodynamic enhancements along with new forged aluminium wheels and performance focused tyres, allowing it to accelerate to 0-300 km/h in less than 12 seconds and hit a top speed of 350kmh (217mph).
Limited to only 5 vehicles, each hand painted vehicle will be finished in a combination of three specific colours – Automobili Pininfarina’s signature “Iconica Blu”, the yet to be seen “Grigio Antonelliano” and “Bianco Sestiere” and will be distinguishable by small details throughout the car like the engraved “Anniversario” on the side wings and engravings on the headlights, door plaques and chassis plate.
In comparison to the “standard” Battista price of €2 million, each of the 5 limited edition Anniversario versions will be priced upwards of €2.6 million.
Recalling the passion his grandfather had for design, Chairman Paola Pininfarina shared, “We are on the 90th year of Pininfarina history and are celebrating a very important anniversary. My grandfather was always a little bit unsatisfied and we want to continue this improvement. So the target of this car is to be the best Italian electric car ever. The best performance, the best design, the best aerodynamic design. It’s a demonstration that you always want to do better and better and better. “
