McLaren has announced the final 12 McLaren 600LT Spider’s to roll off the production line will be known as the 600LT Spider Segestria Borealis by MSO editions, all of which have now landed in America ahead of deliveries to their new owners.

It appears the McLaren Special Operations team (MSO) were given license to go wild with the design of the last 600LT Spider to be produced and that’s exactly what they did – taking inspiration from the “Segestria Florentina” spider, a venomous species found throughout Europe that is identified by its jet black body and iridescent neon green “fangs”.

Mirroring the neon green fangs of the Segestria Florentina spider, its auto counterpart features twin Napier Green stripes running from the front of the nose to the top-exit exhausts at the tail, while the glistening black exterior paintwork in “Borealis Black” shows hints of purple and green in the right light and draw parallels from the glossy body of the spider itself. Other small but noticeable features include the web-like motifs on the rear wing and door mirrors and the MSO bespoke brake calipers also in Napier Green.

Commenting on the design of the green machines, Anthony Joseph, President of McLaren North America said, “The McLaren 600LT Spider Segestria Borealis by MSO is a singular example of the visionary, creative approach to the artistry of McLaren Special Operations. Like any 600LT, it is a purposeful, single-minded and menacing creation, but in this instance all the power and performance of this supercar is expressed in a unique and striking design scheme that fits with the desire of many McLaren owners to personalize their cars to make them truly their own.”

The interior of the bespoke MSO 600LT features elements of the Napier green color scheme throughout with bright green stitching and a webbed design across the Alcantara seats and headrest. It also includes the MSO Clubsport pack that features lightweight carbon fiber racing seats, a carbon fiber interior upgrade, and titanium wheel bolts as well as MSO gloss carbon fiber front fender louvers.

The McLaren 600LT Spider Segestria Borealis by MSO also comes equipped with a front-end lift system and is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 592 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to hit 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds.

The 12 special MSO editions are the last 600LT Spiders to be produced and have while some are already spoken for, a few will still be available for purchase at select McLaren dealers across America with prices starting from USD$$275,500.
