Porsche Debuts New Entry-level 2021 Taycan for US and Europe
Porsche has debuted a new entry-level Taycan, making it the fourth fully electric model in the Taycan lineup for 2021.
Porsche has debuted an entry-level, rear-wheel-drive EV as the fourth variant in the 2021 all-electric Taycan lineup.
Following in the footsteps of its Chinese market debut mid-2020, the new entry-level EV Porsche Taycan will launch in the US and Europe and has the same rear power unit as the Taycan 4S.
Available in two lithium-ion battery configurations, the 2020 Porsche Taycan EV can produce up to 402hp with the single-deck performance battery pack and up to 469hp with the two-deck Performance Battery Plus option. Both battery options offer a 0-60 mph time of 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 143 mph, and can be charged from five percent to 80 percent in just 22.5 minutes.
Unlike previous models, the new 2021 base model Porsche Taycan moves the drive train to the rear, equating to a weight reduction of 200 pounds. The new base model also comes standard with 19-inch Aero wheels, LED headlights, six-piston front and rear brakes with blacked-out calipers, and Porsche Active Suspension Management.
Although the Taycan comes standard with partial leather interiors, it is also the first Porsche model available with an entirely leather-free interior made from innovative recycled materials.
In terms of pricing, the new Porsche Taycan starts at USD$81,250 (USD$20,000 USD less than the Taycan 4S) and is already available in the US.
