Founded in 1993, The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a traditional hill climb event held at the historic Goodwood Estate of Lord March. The original plan of Lord March was to revive motor racing at the Goodwood Circuit, however the permit required to host the event was not possible so he opted to bring the party back to his place so to speak.
The relaxed nature of the event allows visitors to roam the paddocks and get up close and personal with the drivers and cars, while reinforced straw bales separating the race track allows for excellent viewing by all.
Each year Goodwood announces a theme and being that this year celebrates the events 25th anniversary it seems only fitting that this years theme is “The Silver Jubilee”. The Duke of Richmond (formerly Lord March) will highlight 25 of his favourite moments from the first 25 events and will be presented as the cornerstones of this years event alongside the usual celebration of motoring throughout the ages!
